How did they find out Georgia is so stressed out?
And no, they didn’t just walk down the street asking if people felt stressed (although, they’d probably get the same results)!
Plus Docs conducted this study by searching for,
keywords and phrases related to burnout in both personal and professional lives on Google. A total of 275 search terms were then analyzed, including ‘therapy,’ ‘work burnout,’ and ‘stress,’ and a ranking was produced based on the total average monthly search volumes per 100,000 residents for all terms, by state.
Through this analysis, researchers found that Georgians searched for one of the noted keywords an average of 39,038 times per month. ‘Anxiety’ is the most searched keyword in the state of Georgia.
What’s the least stressed out state?
Montana ranked last as far as stressed-out states go!
What can I do to manage my stress?
So now that we know we’re stressed out… what can we do to fix it. You probably don’t want to hear that exercise, taking walks, having time away from your devices, and getting enough sleep are helpful solutions but… they are!
Take time to refocus on your community, your social networks (hang out with your friends and family!), and yourself. You might de-stress by taking a nice hot shower, or by enjoying a dance class or by grabbing dinner with friends. Notice how you relax best, and make sure you schedule time into your daily life to manage your stress.
And of course, if you need help, there’s always online therapy to check out.
