Bonaventure Cemetery

As the second most-haunted city in America, Savannah offers tons of spooky season happenings and events. Visiting Bonaventure Cemetery might just be something to add to your list.
Bonaventure Cemetery is a huge tourist attraction in Savannah, and part of a network of six cemeteries that are owned and operated by the City of Savannah & maintained by the City Cemeteries Division:
- Colonial Park
- Laurel Grove North
- Laurel Grove South
- Bonaventure
- Greenwich
- Evergreen
A new ranking by National Parks Guide ranks Bonaventure as the #1 most beautiful cemetery in the nation, followed by:
- Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York (2)
- Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord, Massachusetts (3)
- Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (4)
Bonaventure Cemetery gained fame and popularity not only for its beauty, but as the site of the Bird Girl statue, on the cover of the best-selling novel Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. (The statue is no longer inside the cemetery, but rather in the Telfair Academy.
