May is AAPI Heritage Month and with Atlanta being such a melting pot of cultures, it’s the perfect place to get out and support! Whether an art gallery, restaurant, coffee shop, or more, Atlanta has a rich AAPI culture and we have rounded up a few of the businesses in the city where you can explore and show your support.
1. Kai Lin Art
This beautiful modern and contemporary gallery was founded by Yu Kai-Lin in 2008. Kai-Lin’s passion and goal to highlight talents coming from the Southeast is what sparked his drive to create this space. Since its creation, Kai Lin Art Gallery has been recognized by regional, national, and international publications for being on the cutting edge of art in America. They have also garnered praise from the likes of Jezebel Magazine, Georgia Voice, Trippy Savy, and more. Take a stroll through their art gallery this month and enjoy some of the best art in the South.
2. Hello Rainbow
This multicultural bookstore in Duluth is perfect for children. Specializing in having diverse reading material for the younger generation, Hello Rainbow is a great way to show support for AAPI Heritage Month.
3. Maomi Book Store
Another quaint bookstore, Maomi is tucked in Atlanta’s Chinatown and is another great find! Visitors can also enjoy something from the onsite cafe which serves traditional teas and drinks. You can also immerse yourself in one of their workshops such as calligraphy or Taiwanese Tea Culture & Tasting Workshop. Maomi makes sure guests get a hands-on experience.
4. Eight Sushi
Nom Nom! We love some sushi! And what better way to show support for AAPI Heritage Month than by grabbing a bite to eat at one of Atlanta’s best sushi restaurants? Eight Sushi was established in 2015 and has since continued to expand and remain a popular spot for people to gather. Guests can stop by and grab some of Eight’s famous sushi rolls.
5. Eleven TLC
If you haven’t been to this wellness and tea shop you are missing out! Eleven TLC is a great place to go and grab delicious as well as HEALTHY drinks. First opened in PCM Eleven TLC has continued to grow and educate the community about the importance of the things we put in our bodies. They offer guests latte powders, potions, mushrooms, teas, and more!
6. Le Fat
Make sure you bring your appetite to Atlanta’s fav Vietnamese restaurant. Le Fat is Chef Guy Wong’s perfect addition to the west midtown neighborhood. Check out their specialties which include the clay pot chicken, Vietnamese curry, and the braised pork belly bowl. Take a bite out of these amazing dishes this month.
7. Talat Market
Talat Market is an amazing Thai-inspired restaurant started by Parnass Savang and Rod Lassiter. Using Thai cooking techniques these two chefs cook flavorful dishes featuring local Georgia ingredients. Located in the Summerhill neighborhood, you don’t want to miss all the delicious goodness waiting for you at this unique dining space.
8. Nan
Another Thai-focused dining experience, Nan is one of Atlanta’s premier Thai restaurants. And it’s easy to see why! Nan is a 16x four-diamond award-winning restaurant! Chef Nan perfected Thai cuisine when she first worked as a street vendor back home in Bangkok. Guests are sure to leave satisfied!

This is a must-visit spot for all your Japanese food cravings. From dry instant foods, cooking items, snacks, candies, frozen convenience foods, Asian fruits, and vegetables, and Asian bakeries, to ready-to-eat hot items, Wagaya Groceries has it all.
10. Sweet Hut Bakery
Sweet Hut Bakery is truly a guilty pleasure for anyone with a sweet tooth! And even better they stay open until 3 AM. Get your fix of boba teas, cupcakes, cookies, milk tea, and so much more. This Atlanta phenomenon burst onto the scene in 2012 and has continued to grow, with over three locations open now.
11. Mamak
This one is for all the vegans out there! Mamak is a Malaysian food vegan kitchen. Bursting with flavor, guests definitely won’t feel like they are missing out on anything. Enjoy pan-fried dumplings, Satay tofu, olive fried rice, and other vegan-friendly dishes. This will surely be a dining experience you won’t forget.

Another amazing restaurant by Chef Guy Wong, Ruby Chow’s is a swanky lounge and bar that will make it hard for guests to leave! Sink into velvety chairs while biting into decadent dishes. This gorgeously decorated new spot is located in PCM and serves as the perfect place to grab a bite to eat after work or as a date night!
