On September 4, 2024 an active shooter at Apalachee High School committed an act of senseless violence, leaving four dead and at least nine others injured/in the hospital, according to reports by CNN. Our hearts are with the families, friends, communities, and peers of all those affected by this horrifying act.
Apalachee High School is in Winder, Georgia, about an hour outside of Atlanta. CNN reports, “the shooter is believed to be a 14-year-old but it’s unknown whether he attended the school.” The suspect is believed to be in custody.
This is now the deadliest instance of school violence in Georgia history.
