Atlanta is known for our typically mild winters, but next week, it’s looking like we’ll be getting some of that storybook winter weather! Well… at least in temperatures, anyway. Keep scrolling to see how cold it’s expected to get at the start of the week, and how you can prepare for it.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported earlier today that cold weather is on the way for Metro Atlanta. They say that the National Weather Service predicts lows on Sunday and Monday of next week will “take a nosedive into the 20s with highs hovering in the 40s. And wind chills could make it feel even colder.”
In some parts of northeast Georgia’s higher elevations, it could even feel like the single digits, so bundle up.
Is the cold weather going to last?

Thankfully (or not thankfully, if you’re into the cold weather!), the winter weather isn’t going to last very long. The National Weather Service reports that the temps should, “rebound quickly through the second half of the week.” Highs will climb into the 50s by Tuesday and hit the low to mid-60s on Wednesdays. And if you can believe it, on Thursday, the highs might even touch 70 degrees.
We’ve got one thing to say about the weather for next week… Make up your mind, Atlanta!
