Whether your going to watch Downtown’s Peach Drop or you’re staying in with family and friends, there’s no denying that Atlanta is a great place to be for New Year’s Eve. This has been solidified by a recent in-depth study conducted by WalletHub, ranking every city in the states on their New Year offerings.
Of course it’s no surprise that NYC came out on top, with their legendary Ball Drop on Times Square being the official U.S. symbol of NYE in the zeitgeist.
However, Atlanta didn’t come too far behind New York, being ranked fifth over-all with one hundred cities considered.
The study takes several key indicators into consideration when ranking the cities, ranges from legality of fireworks to average price of a New Year’s Eve party ticket, anticipated turn-out, plus more like entertainment, affordability, and safety.
Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 being the “most favorable.” The ATL came out with a 66.00 total score, only 4.2o points away from NYC’s high score.
The other cities that beat A-Town in the running for those top spots are San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Orlando. To check out the full in-depth study, click here.
In other NYE news, Atlanta’s iconic Peach Drop will be returning this year following a three-year hiatus brought on by relocation and the pandemic. The adored tradition will be back at Underground Atlanta just like old times, with an awesome line-up of entertainment already announced. For more information, click here or the link below.
