Today, June 3rd, 2025, Governor Brian Kemp made a major announcement for the (formerly known as) Atlanta Motor Speedway.
What’s the new name of the Atlanta Motor Speedway?
The Atlanta Motor Speedway will now be called the EchoPark Speedway.
Brian Kemp, in his announcement, called this “an incredible day in our great state.” And pressed a button which fired green smoke into the air in celebration of the new name and partnership with Speedway Motorsports and EchoPark Automotive.
Why did the Atlanta Motor Speedway change names?
This all comes as part of a partnership between the track (which, of course, is formerly known as Atlanta Motor Speedway) and EchoPark Automotive. This new partnership is a seven-year, multi-million-dollar agreement, and of course, gives naming rights to EchoPark.

But it’s not just a rename, there’s more to it!
EchoPark Speedway announced in a statement today,
EchoPark Speedway’s entire 850-acre facility has undergone a massive facelift in preparation for its upcoming national debut as the opening race for the TNT portion of the NASCAR broadcast schedule and the kickoff event for the new in-season Cup Series tournament. Fans will see the new EchoPark Speedway’s signature green color and the new track logo across track walls, Victory Lane, and throughout the concourse when they attend the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart on Saturday night, June 28, or tune in nationally at 7 p.m. ET on TNT.
The news seems to be quite polarizing on social media. Some express excitement for the new chapter in the speedway’s history, and some say they’ll still refer to the track as the ATlanta Motor Speedway no matter what.
