This weekend is Atlanta Pride, and we can’t wait to celebrate Atlanta’s thriving queer community! With tons of planned events, markets, parties, educational workshops, marches & the parade, there’s a ton going on. And, of course, it also means a huge crowd is coming to Midtown–resulting in heavy traffic, congestion, and some road closures for the weekend.
Keep scrolling to learn all about the road closures you’ll need to take into consideration.
How many people are coming to Atlanta Pride?

Organizers of the Atlanta Pride Festival are expecting a great turnout this year, with hundreds of thousands of attendees. According to the 2025 Atlanta Pride Impact Report,
In 2025, Atlanta Pride once again hosted the largest free Pride festival in the United States, welcoming more than 350,000 attendees over festival weekend. The Atlanta Pride Parade drew more than 100,000 spectators, making it the largest parade in Atlanta.
In other words: expect a crowd. Expect traffic. Expect limited parking.
Festival organizers HIGHLY recommend attendees take MARTA to the festival, to cut down on congestion.
- To get to the beginning of the Parade route, get off MARTA at the Civic Center station.
- To get to other sections of the Parade route, get off at the North Avenue or Midtown stations.
- To get to Piedmont park, get off at the Midtown or Arts Center stations.
