Atlanta Streets Alive started back for the 2026 season this March, and now we’re gearing up for their April date–where a whole street closes to traffic and opens up to the public! Keep scrolling to learn more.
What is Atlanta Streets Alive?
Hold up. What is Atlanta Streets Alive?
Part of an international open street movement, Atlanta Streets Alive is an initiative to temporarily open the streets to Atlantans to bike, walk, skate, dance, and play!
It’s a fun (and FREE) way to get out in the community and enjoy a space that is generally closed to the public.
According to Atlanta Streets Alive,
Atlanta Streets Alive is open to people of all ages and encourages all forms of non-motorized transportation. City-goers can experience our urban core in an exciting new way! ATLiens can come together and celebrate the people, businesses, and places that make our city so special.
Where will Atlanta Streets Alive be in April?
On April 19th from 2pm – 6pm, Atlanta Streets Alive will close Peachtree Street to traffic from 15th street to Alabama Street. That’s 2.8 miles of Peachtree Street, close to traffic.
*The street closure will be from 12pm – 7pm.
