What is ‘Atlanta’ about?
Created by Donald and Stephen Glover, ‘Atlanta’ is a surreal series that ran for 4 seasons from 2016-2022. It’s about… well, what isn’t it about?
James Poniewozik of the NYT says,
[Altanta is] …about but not limited to the music business, it was a state of mind, a state of precariousness, a state of flux. The series followed a circle of artists and artist-adjacent characters from trap houses to world tours, but it took detours and backroads. Sometimes Atlanta was in Amsterdam. Sometimes it was in the past. Sometimes ‘Atlanta’ was the funniest comedy on TV and sometimes the spookiest drama. What united its fragmented collage was a feel for the uncanniness of life as experienced by its characters, for whom upheaval was a constant.
ATLiens watching the show will recognize streets, houses, characters, vibes… and deeply enjoy a super unique story about Atlanta.
