If you’ve ever seen a burlesque show in the ATL, chances are: it’s been produced in some capacity by Roula Roulette, the CEO of Atlanta School of Burlesque, Metropolitan Studios Arts & Movement, and The Candybox Revue. From the most fun & over-the-top burlesque shows in town to fun intro-to-burlesque dance classes, there’s always been something for everyone to enjoy at these burlesque houses. But now, we’ve got some sad news for the ATL burlesque community: all of these spots are closing in 2026.
Wait… WHAT?
Our exact response! Roula Roulette announced in an IG post today, February 3rd:
I will be closing The Atlanta School of Burlesque, Metropolitan Studios, and The Candybox Revue, with all taking their final bow on June 30, 2026.

They continued,
You can read their full community update here. These decisions were not made lightly. I want to be very clear: The change reflects positive growth and thoughtful evolution, not conflict, crisis, or a lack of support.I am choosing to close intentionally, while the work is strong, the studio’s community is vibrant, and what we’ve built together is something to celebrate with deep care, pride, and gratitude.
So what’s coming next?

You’re probably wondering: is something else coming into the space? Right now, that’s not the plan. Roula Roulette mentions in their note that Zara Estelle will create a new studio business, called Atlanta Creative Arts, in a new location. The plan is to include a burlesque program as well. While this builds on the foundation of the community created by The Atlanta School of Burlesque, it will be entirely separate from The Atlanta School of Burlesque, Metropolitan Studios or Candy Revue.
As more burlesque studios, companies and classes pop up, don’t worry, we’ll let you know!
Can I still check out Atlanta School of Burlesque events & performances?

Yes! There are still plenty of events and happenings to check out at one of these spots before they close in June of 2026. You can check out all the events on their respective websites, linked below!
- The Atlanta School of Burlesque
- Metropolitan Studios
- Candybox Revue
Roula Roulette notes, importantly,
While the physical spaces and productions I’ve built or overseen are coming to a close, what was created here does not end. The impact of The Atlanta School of Burlesque, The Candybox Revue, and Metropolitan Studios lives on through the artists who trained, performed, and connected here, and through the communities they continue to shape.
We will miss our famous burlesque spots in the ATL, but we’re excited to see what the future holds for the burlesque community in the ATL!
