It’s rare that the south gets to experience the outdoor winter wonderland that some other parts of the country get to experience during the holidays! We don’t get nearly as much (if any) snow, and our lakes never freeze over!
But there’s one place where we can experience the chill in the air of a winter wonderland while we’re outdoors: one of the iconic Atlanta outdoor ice skating rinks!
When it comes to active winter things to do, there’s no sport more festive and celebratory of the holiday season than ice skating! (I can’t help but think of the iconic scene from A Charlie Brown Christmas, where all the kids are skating out on the pond!)
Skating truly is an winter holiday tradition that everyone can enjoy!
But don’t be jealous of the Rockefeller ice skating rink in New York… we’ve got something just as amazing! Avalon in Alpharetta is hosting a Rockefeller-inspired ice skating rink this season, where you’ll be able to skate the day away!
Avalon has become a renowned holiday destination for shopping and entertainment. From Halloween bashes in the fall to Easter happenings in the spring, there’s something happening in Avalon all year round, and their winter ice rink takes the cake for popularity and anticipation!
