A new study conducted by WalletHub has ranked the best airlines to fly in the U.S., and their findings are… shocking, to say the least. Here’s what we know so far:
What’s the best airline to fly out of Hartsfield-Jackson?
It’s Spirit.
AND WAIT! Before you leave, let us at least tell you why! We know Spirit gets (lovingly, usually) made fun of, but this new data shows that the airline is actually one of the best to fly out of the ATL!
WalletHub actually found the best airline for a range of topics:
Best Airline Overall | Spirit Airlines |
Most Affordable Airline | Spirit Airlines |
Most Reliable Airline | Delta Air Lines |
Most Comfortable Airlines | JetBlue Airways and Hawaiian Airlines |
Best Airline for Pets | Skywest Airlines, United Airlines and Envoy Air |
Safest Airline | Spirit Airlines |
And with Spirit taking the #1 spot on the list as the best overall airline, the most affordable airline and the safest airline, we’ve gotta give them some credit where credit is due!
Okay, how’d they come up with this ranking?
Here’s how WalletHub came up with these findings:
…. we evaluated the 9 largest national airlines as well as two regional carriers (that report to the Department of Transportation because they have at least 1 percent of total domestic scheduled-service passenger revenues) in terms of 14 key metrics across four major categories: 1) Baggage and departures, 2) Animal Incidents 3) In-flight comfort and cost and 4) Safety.
Each of these categories was further broken up into specifics, for example, “comfort & cost” is subjective, but WalletHub ranked the airlines based on:
- Leg room
- Entertainment options
- Wi-Fi availablity
- Complimentary Refreshments
- Price
In other words, this ranking is pretty comprehensive, and they didn’t leave any stone unturned!
