‘We Ran The City’ a feature documentary
According to Deadline, the documentary’s synopsis is:
Atlanta 1996: We Ran The City delves into Atlanta’s dynamic and often tumultuous transformation during the years leading up to the 1996 Olympics. Through the eyes of a diverse cast, including hard-nosed law enforcement officers, controversial politicians, influential entrepreneurs, and notorious criminals, the documentary paints a vivid portrait of a city grappling with growth, crime, and political intrigue.
This film is especially relevant since the city is currently prepping for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and some fans can draw similarities between the two massive sporting events.
‘We Ran The City’ will also touch on important cultural changes happening in the city during the time.
Who is the creative team behind this film?
Jami McCoy, will direct and executive produce, alongside Big Boi and Robert Slocum. And according to Deadline, “The creative team behind the doc is also developing a limited fictional series titled 96 on the same subject matter.”
Big Boi will provide crucial input to help shape the documentary into the most authentic look at the lead up to the 96 summer olympics possible, with his intimate knowledge and understanding to the city’s culture.
