It’s no secret. When it comes to traffic in the ATL, everyone’s got a story. Whether it’s that your daily commute takes so long that you’ve got a whole library of audiobooks queued up, or you spent the last 3 miles home going 2 mph and it took thirty minutes… yeah. Traffic in Atlanta is famously bad. And with the World Cup in town this summer? Whew. Forget about getting anywhere on time.
That’s why MARTA is offering to drive. Their new campaign, ‘Let MARTA Drive,’ in partnership with Atlanta’s own Big Boi, is an effort to cut down on traffic all throughout the city. Don’t get in your car and add to traffic… just let MARTA drive!
Hold up. What is Big Boi doing?
Through the LET MARTA DRIVE campaign, Big Boi encourages riders to take MARTA to major events across Downtown Atlanta, reducing traffic congestion and parking challenges while creating a more convenient and connected travel experience.
The campaign also reinforces Ride with Respect, reminding riders to treat fellow passengers, MARTA employees, and public spaces with care and consideration.
Big Boi said in a statement,
Atlanta has always been a city that moves people and sets trends. When the world comes here, I want everyone to feel that energy without the stress. MARTA makes it easy to get downtown, to the events, and everywhere in between. I’m proud to be part of what keeps Atlanta moving and shows the world how we do it.
