Don your wings and get ready for a dazzling festival of butterflies fluttering by, Atlanta! This March, Chantelle Rytter, Hapeville Main Street, and The Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons (the minds behind the Where the Weird Things Are Beltline parade) is bringing their iconic annual Butterfly Lantern Parade to downtown Hapeville, and you don’t wanna miss it! What is the Hapeville Butterfly Lantern Parade?

The Hapeville Butterfly Lantern Parade is an annual event celebrating community, the arts, and of course, butterflies! This fun festival is perfect for the whole family, so bring your little butterflies along, too!
What can guests expect at the Hapeville Butterfly Lantern Parade?
Other than tons of butterfly fun, there are SO many fun happenings at the Butterfly Lantern Parade this year! The festival begins during the daytime, at 5pm, with a pop-up artisan market, food and drink vendors, amazing music, and cool art activities for the whole family.
And then, after the sun sets, everyone will get their beautiful butterfly lanterns ready, and start on the glowing procession of butterfly and floral themed lanterns! The whole parade is about a mile long.

Anyone can march along with the parade, but you do need a butterfly lantern to participate. don’t know where to start? Don’t worry! There are actually several butterfly lantern workshops you can check out, including:
- Sunday, March 8th from 12pm – 4pm (adults only) | flower lanterns
- Saturday, March 14th from 1pm – 4pm (family event) | butterfly lanterns
- Sunday, March 15th from 1pm – 4pm (family event) | butterfly lanterns
- Wednesday, March 18th from 6pm – 9pm (adults only) | butterfly lanterns
- Thursday, March 19th from 6:30pm – 9:30pm (adults only) | custom lanterns with print blocks
- Friday, March 20th from 6pm – 9pm (adults only) | butterfly lanterns
