No more missing out on live music just because you’ve got little ones in tow. Candlelight Babies in Atlanta is a 45-minute concert developed for little listeners aged 0 to 9 months and the grown-ups who love them.
Families can relax in a tranquil and nurturing space and enjoy classical pieces like Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”, Mozart’s “Eine kleine Nachtmusik”, as well as compositions by Bach, Boccherini, Brahms and more timeless composers. Best part is, parents can forget about the pressure of keeping babies still, because at this one-off performance, their coos and wiggles are part of the charm.

Benefits of classical music for babies
Classical music can have a remarkably calming effect on infants due to its structure and tone. Many classical pieces feature soft instrumentation with slow rhythms that can steady a baby’s breathing and relax their nervous system. This is partly because long before they’re born babies hear their mother’s heartbeat and classical music echoes those sensations without overstimulating them. What’s more, pieces like “Clair de Lune” and “Gymnopédie No. 1 “ also tap into their emotions, reducing their stress levels and helping them settle or even fall asleep.
Candlelight Babies: Classical Sounds to Stimulate Little Minds
Candlelight has long made classical music available to everyone and this time around, it has adapted iconic works for tiny ears. Joined by at least a parent, wide-eyed babies can enjoy familiar tunes in a space with padded flooring as they play or snuggle with their parents. Performed by gentle strings, their minds are stimulated by the magic of live music, while parents can soak in the soothing atmosphere provided by the series’ trademark sea of flameless candles.
Even if your little ones are known to wriggle and cry, this experience has been designed to delight little ears and give everyone (parents included) a peaceful escape. Still, no squeaky toys, rattles or maracas are allowed so that your babies can tune into the live music and simultaneously, respect the other attendees. The concert will be held at The Chapel on Sycamore, with an added nursing area and changing room if needed.
