D’Angelo, Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, and Marvin Gaye are only a few artists, whose songs were performed live by the talented PureSoul Atlanta.
While there is no upcoming tribute to RnB scheduled to illuminate the city, there are plenty of other Candlelight programs for music lovers to choose from.
Candlelight: Legends of R&B feat. Songs by D’Angelo, Jill Scott, and More
Candlelight honored the best in the genre thanks to an unforgettable soulful performance from PureSoul Atlanta, starting with the Queen of Funk, Chaka Khan. Her career has spanned five decades and she’s won innumerable awards including 8 Grammys. Additionally, Lauryn Hill is considered to be one of the greatest rappers and neo soul singers of all time, breaking barriers for women in the rap scene. Not to mention the Prince of Soul and Motown, Marvin Gaye, whose songs we’ve been grooving out to since 1961. So, celebrating these icons’ greatest hits really is a no-brainer.
The vibrant Chapel on Sycamore became “Golden” as some of the greatest hits of RnB and funk filled up the venue. Fans heard Chaka Khan’s and Rufus’ “Tell Me Something Good”, Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On”, Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)”, John Legend’s “Ordinary People” and many more, while taking in the beauty of the glowing venue.
After achieving enormous success in cities like London, Paris, Barcelona and Madrid, Candlelight has come to bring its signature sea of candles to Atlanta’s greatest venues. You can now experience the iconic music of some of the greatest artists like never before, as the gentle glow of candlelight heightens the legendary sounds into a modern masterpiece.
Whether you feel like enjoying some of your favorite tunes reimagined by a group of talented musicians on your own, or sharing them with a special someone, this concert is sure to blow your mind.
Note: For the safety of the audience, all of the candlelight will be provided through flameless candles.
