For all those who’ve been sweating just to wear their favorite wintery and fall sweaters… we’re in luck! Cold weather is on the way!
How cold is it going to get this week?
Today, Atlantans woke up to weather in the upper 40s! If you’re outside of the city in the north Georgia mountains, you might even have felt temperatures in the 30s!
According to 11Alive’s Weather Impact report,
Lows in the city will stay in the low 40s for the remainder of the week. On the coldest days, temperatures in the mountains will drop into the 30s… Frost Advisories will likely be issued. A couple of mornings, we will also experience close to freezing temperatures.
Will it be cold all day?
Well, depends on what you consider cold. It’s not going to stay in the 40s all day in the ATL, though. We’ll likely see afternoon highs in the mid-60s, which is still considerably cooler than it has been so far in October!
In other words–bring your jacket with you as you leave the house!
Is this unusually cold for Atlanta?
Actually, no. Atlanta has been un-seasonably hot this October, and this week will be back in the realm of ‘normal.’
According to 11Alive,
This week’s cold will come with an extra dose of ‘sticker shock’ because of how unusually warm the first half of the month has been. To date, Atlanta is running about 4.6 degrees warmer than usual for the month.
Will is stay cold?
Right now, the weekend forecast is back in the 70s, so don’t pack away all your summer clothes quite yet… we might still need a few short sleeved days!
So grab your coat and enjoy the cold weather while it’s here, Atlanta! It really feels like fall!
