What is Dickens in Dillard?
For the first time ever, the town of Dillard in the North Georgia mountains will host a magical Victorian Christmas festival called Dickens in Dillard! This festival invites guests into a festive world of Victorian charm, mountain hospitality, and holiday cheer.
Event organizer and festival founder, Eliana Swanson, says,
Our vision is to build a new annual Christmas tradition in the mountains — a beautiful combination of holiday nostalgia, family fun, and the unique personality of Rabun County… We want both locals and visitors to feel like they’ve stepped into a storybook for the day.
This new tradition will take place outdoors, and is fun for the whole family!
What can Dickens in Dillard festival-goers expect?
Along with all the festive Victorian holiday cheer, festival-goers will enjoy tons of amazing events. Some of the highlights include:
- Cratchit’s Corner Main Stage – holiday performances throughout the day
- Tiny Tim’s Stage – live music throughout the day
- Christmas Shopping Village & Artisan Market
- Delicious food and drink options
- Battle of the Carolers Competition
- Kids Activities —photo opportunities with Santa and Christmas Carol characters,
puppet show, and more! - Ebenezer’s VIP Lounge (21+) — access to the festival and seated meal, wine pairing and live entertainment in an indoors space (limited tickets available)
Costumes are encouraged but not required — and guests are invited to dress warm and festive with scarves, bonnets, shawls, coats and winter hats to match the Victorian theme and mountain setting.
