There’s a new Publix in town, and Atlanta is EXCITED for it! The brand-new Publix in Buckhead just opened its doors this past Wednesday (10/4), and there’s already a ton of buzz about it. Disco Publix, as it’s been lovingly nicknamed, isn’t just your average Publix either!
What does Disco Publix have to offer?
Along with being Georgia’s favorite place to grab groceries, this Publix has some rather unique features.
Inside, you’ll find a:
- Pours Bar (coffee, tea, espresso, beer, wine, smoothies, Acaí)
- Sushi Bar
- Hot Bar (burritos, nachos, bowls)
- Popcorn Bar
- Sub Counter (wraps, hot entrees, sides, meats)
- Salad Counter
- Pizza & Pasta Bar
… And so much more! Get your shopping done and treat yourself, all in one! At 54,965 square feet, this also makes Disco Publix one of the largest Publix grocery stores in the entire Metro ATL area!
Okay, help me out. Why is it called ‘Disco Publix’?
Is there a disco inside the Publix? No.
The reason this Publix is being nicknamed ‘Disco Publix’ is because it’s built on the site of the old Disco Kroger. Atlantans know that there are several famous Krogers in town with nicknames pertaining to their past/location: Murder Kroger, Hipster Kroger, Disco Kroger… you get it. Disco Kroger was next to a nightclub in the 1980s, so the nickname ‘Disco’ just stuck!
I want to go to Disco Publix! Where is it?
You’ll find Disco Kroger in Buckhead!
Where: Buckhead Landing | 3330 Piedmont Rd. NE
