Mexican food, good drinks, a cute view, and hookah? Count us in! Roll all those things into one and you get Casa Almenara. This fairly new restaurant has taken over the previously named 10th and Piedmont. Perfectly located on the corner of rainbow crosswalks, this Mexican restaurant opened just in time for all the sunshine we’ve been getting.
Casa Almenara has redecorated the interior of this cute space to make guests feel as if they have been transported to a Mexico getaway. The gorgeous and colorful interior is complimented by their large open windows. When the weather is just right you can find the perfect booth lining the windows, and catch a breeze, while you sip on some of their delicious cocktails.
Let’s talk about it! Their cocktails are flavorful and you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck. Our fav drink was the Dolce Dolare, made with White Rum, Aperol, Sweet & Sour, and Blood Orange Sauce, you will take one taste of this and feel like you’re on the ultimate beach vacay. Guests can also choose from a variety of tequila-based drinks. Whatever your liquor of choice Casa Almenara has you covered. Of course, the drinks are complimented by even tastier dishes.
Keep something on your stomach while you’re downing their delicious beverages. Choose from classic Mexican dishes such as Enchiladas Verde (Shredded Chicken, Arroz y Frijoles, Cebolla Curtida, Crema, Fresco) or Tres Tacos (Tinga, Shrimp & Birria Tacos with usual suspects & accompaniments). Other dishes include La Nueva Burger (Double Patty, Caramelized Onions, Oaxaca Blend, Adobo Chili, Brioche Bread. Served with fried potatoes), Pollo Frita (Crispy Chicken, Oaxaca Blend, Chipotle Aioli, Brioche Bread), and more.
If you still manage to have room for more food top off your dinner with one of their desserts. Casa Churros (Dulce de Leche, Mole) and Abuela’s Chocolate Flan (Orange, Brown Sugar Crumbs). Once you’re done filling your appetite guests can walk towards the back of the restaurant where they will find a lounge with hookah a DJ and more to keep the night going. Casa Almenara will easily become a summer staple.
