You might not have known it, but famous media personality Ryan Seacrest is actually from Dunwoody, right here in Metro Atlanta. And he just gave back in a big way. Keep scrolling for all the details.
Wait, what’s going on?

Dunwoody High is re-vamping their football stadium, and they’ve just gotten an undisclosed donation from TV personality, Ryan Seacrest to help make it happen.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the stadium sn’t currently big enough for the Dunwoody Wildcats to host games, with only 1,000 seats. Therefore, it has to share with Chamblee High School at North DeKalb Stadium.
Along with other donations and fundraising efforts, Seacrest donated a large, undisclosed amount to the school.
Why did Ryan Seacrest donate to Dunwoody High?
It’s actually the TV personality’s alma mater, and he’s always had a close connection to the city.
According to 11 Alive, District 1 School Board Member Andrew Ziffer said during a meeting,
Despite his national visibility, Ryan and his family have remained deeply connected to Dunwoody. Their support of the stadium project represents a full circle moment in which a Dunwoody Wildcat, a DeKalb County student, gives back to the school that helped shape his earliest opportunities.
Seacrest also did the morning announcements at Dunwoody High School while enrolled there, earning his nickname, “The Voice of Dunwoody.”
What’s the stadium going to be called?

The DeKalb County School Board approved the name Seacrest Stadium for the renovated stadium.
If the committee is able to meet the campaign goal, then the Wildcats will be able to play on their home field, making them the first DeKalb County high school to have their own on-campus home field.
Okay, Seacrest Stadium! We see you! We’re excited for Dunwoody High’s new stadium.
