Atlantas fall months are perfect anything outdoors. Whether it be walking trails, hiking or enjoy an outdoor patio. Elevate will be adding to things to do this season, by curating Open Spaces. It is in celebration of venues throughout Atlanta from Uptown and Midtown to Downtown. It will take place every weekend from September September 16 – October 9. The best part is all events are FREE! Here’s what amazing events to expect:
The Sunset Carnaval | September 25 from 4-10 pm
Guests can expect to enjoy an interactive art experience using projection mapping technology. There will be a performance by Moksha 13, an underground French icon who sings and DJs and produces a unique blend of rap and hardcore. There will also be local DJ’s, Salah Ananse and DJ Kemit. This indoor and outdoor event will also have live painting, carnival dancers, and performance artists such as stilt walkers and cosplayers.

Atlanta Art Week | September 29-October 2 at various times
Elevate: Open Spaces partnered w/ Atlanta Art Week this year to showcase arts and culture and bringing awareness to the contemporary art scene in Atlanta. Through their collaboration this year attendees will be able to enjoy over 20 galleries, museums, artist, and non-profit spaces where there will be exhibitions, tours, and panel discussions.
Come Together | September 30-October 2
This event is curated by Cat Eye Creative.This event will bring the city together for a collaborative community mural painting; a group art exhibition featuring work by Lucy Luckovich, Erin Nicole Henry, Manic Lawd and Andrew Munoz; artist talks; art education classes; and a block party. These events will also take place indoors and outdoors. All events are immersive and all-inclusive.

Color and Body | October 1 from 2-4 pm
Written and spoken word are what guests can expect during this event. The short story writer Opal Moore along with other poets and professors will be moderating five accomplished poets who will read original poetry and engage with an Atlanta audience in a creative conversation. Deanna Sirlin’s will be presenting her exhibition, Wavelength. The poetry and discussion will be about her exhibition.

Atlanta Freedom Bands
With Atlanta Black Pride also coinciding with this weekend’s festivities, it’s only natural Open Spaces celebrate the LGBTQ community. Atlanta will be Freedom Bands will celebrate Black Pride in one of our newer outdoor spaces, Westside Park. A pops in the Park concert will take place. There will be a diverse program including film music, pop tunes, marches and more. Bring a blanket and enjoy!

Nathalie Stutzmann Conducts Beethoven’s Ninth with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra | October 8 at 8 pm
The last of these events will be a simulcast of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. It will take place in Sifly Piazza. Guests are encouraged to bring food, blankets, and chairs to enjoy. If unable to attend, this concert will be livestreamed and made available online post-concert through YouTube, social media, and the ASO’s website.
