A new report by moveBuddha ranks this ATL suburb as #1 in the Metro Atlanta area, and in the top 20 best suburbs to move to in the entire country… and that’s up against some really steep competition! Keep scrolling for all the details on Fayetteville, Georgia!
Why is Fayetteville a popular spot to move?

Blending tree-lined streets with big-city access, Fayetteville takes the top spot for relocations in the Atlanta area this past year. And not only that, the small town also ranks nationally, coming in at the 18th hottest suburb relocation destination! Fayetteville is a great place to live because of its mix of the slower pace of a small town, but with the access of the city of Atlanta just half an hour away.
Fayetteville is also known for its film studios, including Trilith Studios, a massive movie lot where they filmed famous Marvel movies and shows, Netflix shows, and, most recently, the new Superman film!
However, the study notes that these in-demand suburbs aren’t necessarily cheaper than other places to live across the U.S. In fact, moveBuhhda says,
The average home in Fayetteville costs $440K. But that’s much more affordable than the average home across the top 25 move-to suburbs ($571K), while the average American home is about $364K.
Where is Fayetteville?
Fayetteville is actually just a short drive from Atlanta. If you’re coming from Downtown, it’s just a half-hour drive southwest of the city.
How did moveBuddha come up with this data?

By using search data from moveBuddha’s Moving Cost Calculator researchers identified which suburbs were the most in-demand to move to in 2025. They say,
These top suburbs have the highest ratio of searches for moves in-to-out of cities across their metro area (and excluding the metro’s primary city). Our final top dataset highlights 81 suburbs for which there was sufficient search data. In some cases, particularly in parts of California, these suburbs rank highly not necessarily due to a surge in inbound moves, but because they are experiencing less out-migration than other nearby areas.
So even if you’re not looking to move to Fayetteville, it’s definitely worth a little visit! Check out Fayetteville on your next little day trip around the Metro ATL!
