One of Atlanta’s biggest attractions, The Fernbank Museum of Natural History, is excited to welcome back their Winter Wonderland, this year as a special exhibit at the museum!
This 14th year, the exhibit returns as: “Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World!” And the attraction is not to be missed!
This special exhibit will surround the Great Hall of the museum, with two floors of gorgeously decorated trees and display cases that highlight cultural celebrations, events and traditions from across the entire world.
Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World will tell stories contributed by local consulates and community partnerships.
What should guests expect?
Guests can expect the museum to transform into a winter wonderland, full with arts, crafts, symbols and ornaments to celebrate, well, how we celebrate!
The beautiful atmosphere will definitely put you into the jolly holiday spirit! Popular winter holidays will be represented, along with traditions and celebrations that might be less well-known. The museum will represent a variety of secular and nonsecular holidays from all over the world.
Expect breathtaking, educational, and fun displays celebrating traditions from Sweden, Norway, Mexico, Argentina, India, Costa Rica, Latvia, Kenya, Philippines, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, Japan and many others!
This season, you’ll be able to see “Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World” through your own exploration of the museum, or by following a scavenger hunt that leads viewers to explore the exhibit in steps.
The exhibit will be open Nov. 18, 2023 – Jan. 7, 2024, during regular business hours.
The wonderland will also be open on select evenings, when adult (21+) guests enjoy Fernbank After Dark, which is an incredible boozy night-at-the-museum experience you don’t want to miss!
And don’t miss out on WildWoods: AGLOW, a multi-sensory adventure of nature, glowing displays, and music that immerses visitors in the wonders of nature, which returns from Nov. 10 through Feb. 25, 2024.
