This year, for the first time in almost a decade, we’re thrilled to announce that the AJC Peachtree Road Race will have a massive firework display! And it’s the best way to kick off the race for the Fourth!

When can I see fireworks before the 2025 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race?
When: Thursday, July 3rd, 2025 at 9:15 pm
Where: Fireworks launch from the Macy’s parking deck at Lenox Square
While the pedestrian viewing will be open exclusively to registered participants and their guests, the fireworks will be visible throughout Buckhead and much of Atlanta, creating a shared moment of pride and celebration for the entire city.
Rich Kenah, CEO of Atlanta Track Club and Race Director of the Peachtree says,
The Peachtree has always been about more than just running—it’s about community, tradition and the shared experience… Reintroducing fireworks to Buckhead after nearly a decade not only honors that legacy, it writes a new chapter.
What else should I know about the Peachtree Road Race fireworks show and Fourth of July events?
The firework show marks the culmination of Peachtree race week festivities, building anticipation for the world’s largest 10K on Independence Day.
The fireworks will coincide with the Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo, which will be in Lenox Square.
The expo will take place July 2nd and 3rd from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is Expo is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to make a full day of it—picking up their race number, exploring Buckhead and staying for the fireworks show.
And to top it all off, this year, the stretch of Peachtree Road between Lenox Parkway and Lenox Road will be a ‘pedestrian-only’ zone from July 2nd – 4th!
