This fall has been especially chilly, with the weather switching from super warm to cold seemingly over night. And now, we’re in for another weather shift next week. Atlanta is likely to get its first freeze of the season between Monday (11/10) and Tuesday morning (11/11). Keep scrolling for everything you need to know?
When is the first freeze of the season?

Right now, weather models appear to have the first freeze of the season happening early Tuesday morning, November 11th. But the cold will settle in all day on Monday. In other words, you’ll feel it all day, so don’t forget your sweater!
According to 11Alive’s weather predictions,
A big dip in the jet stream allows for a batch of cold, dry Arctic Air to seep as far south as Florida. The front that ushers in the change arrives Sunday afternoon. As the winds pick up, temperatures begin to tumble.
How cold is it going to get?

On Monday, Atlantans can expect the temperature to drop into the 30s, without actually hitting freezing. But it’ll feel freezing, due to the wind chill. The wind chill on Monday will keep temperatures feeling like they’re in the 20s and 30s all day.
Then on Tuesday morning, which is when the expected first freeze will occur, Atlanta will experience real temperates around 30 degrees. Atlanta’s suburbs and north Georgia will probably sink into “hard-freeze” territory, in the 20s.
Wind chill possibilities will make it feel even colder.
What should I do?
It’s probably time to turn on the heat (if you haven’t already), and make sure to bundle up when you go outside! That means a coat, good socks, and gloves, and a hat to stay warm!
Stay warm, Atlanta! It’s gonna be a chilly one out there!
