Is Atlanta under a freeze warning tonight?
Yes, the National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Atlanta and much of the state of Georgia for tonight, beginning at 11pm. The free warning will last until 2am on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026.
How cold is it going to get tonight?

Temperatures in Atlanta are expected to get into the high 20s tonight, which is below freezing. Nearby cities, especially to the north of Atlanta are expected to get even colder, into the lower 20s.
There will also be a high chance of strong wind, with the National Weather Service predicting “West wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.”
To prevent damage, bring in objects that could blow around on your porch or lawn.
Is it going to snow?
FOX 5 Storm Team has reported that they are monitoring “the potential for light snow showers or flurries to develop in North Georgia by Monday afternoon.”
Right now, no accumulation of snow is expected, due to the ground being to warm for anything to stick.
What should I do to stay safe?

The best way to stay safe from the cold weather is to stay warm and dry inside. Drip your faucets tonight to prevent pipes from bursting, and make sure to dress appropriately for the weather if you must leave your home.
