This Wednesday, February 19th, 2025, another storm system is set to sweep through the southeast… and it’s bringing cold weather and precipitation. But will it snow in Atlanta? Here’s what we know:
Where will it snow in Georgia this week?
According to Atlanta News First’s Weather Report,
there’s a good chance you’ll see snow Wednesday morning in the north Georgia mountains. A winter weather advisory is in effect for far north Georgia on Wednesday, including Ellijay, Rome, Calhoun, Jasper, Blue Ridge, Morganton, Hiawassee, Dahlonega and Dawsonville.
These places are only expected to get about an inch of snow–and maybe less.
Will it snow in Atlanta?
Right now, we’re thinking it will not snow in the ATL. While we could ~possibly~ see some flurries, the temperatures will probably stay above freezing for long enough that the precipitation in Atlanta will just be a cold rain.
Atlanta News First reports,
Some counties in north metro, as far south as Cherokee county, may see a slushy rain/snow mix, but this won’t cause any travel issues beyond damp roadways.
How cold will it be in Atlanta this week?
Snow or not, it’s going to be COLD this week in Atlanta. Make sure you bring your coat to work on Thursday, because when you step out the door in the morning, it’ll be in the 20s.
Even though lows this week are expected to be well below freezing, the days won’t be nearly as cold: expect a high in the high 40s to low 50s. In other words, there’s no snow chance during the days for sure!
But make sure you stay bundled… this cold weather is here to stay for the whole week.
Stay warm and safe, Atlanta!
