Wait… what? Court from the car?

Yep, this is exactly that. Court from your car. A new program by Cobb County State Courts is launching a drive-through court option for certain services today, Monday, February 23rd, 2026.
According to a report by WSB-TV,
The new option will let people pay traffic citations, probation fees, fines and restitution without leaving their car.
Here’s the full breakdown of what the drive-thru court will handle, according to Atlanta News First:
Payments for:
- Traffic citations
- School bus violations
- Restitution
- Court fines
- Probation fees
And it will accept:
- Pleadings
- Case filings and dispositions
- Document drop off and retrieval for attorneys and self-represented litigants

The drive-through court is located at 122 Waddell St, just a block from the main clerk’s office. All drive-through court goers need is their photo ID, a credit or debit card, and their case number. (They do not accept cash, card only.)
Tahnicia Phillips, State Court Of Cobb County clerk, told WSB-TV,
[Cameras catching drivers illegally passing stopped school buses] has caused an increase in the number of citations we are processing. the number of payments we are processing and the number of people that are coming to court.
Of course, other courts in the area are watching to see if this drive-through court proves to be a helpful tool. And who knows? We might see even more pop up around the state if it ends up being successful in streamlining payments and helping people our when it’s time to pay a fine quickly and efficiently!
