We love to see the full, colorful flowers all around the city–but what if we told you could could see more than just a single plant or two. At Gibbs Gardens, you can wander through a hydrangea paradise, with more than 1000 flowering plants, and 150 different types of hydrangea! Keep scrolling to learn more.
When is hydrangea season?

Gibbs Gardens predicts that they’ll have hydrangeas blooming from now until October, so you can plan to head over any time this summer!
Of course, this is somewhat dependent on the weather — so if you’re about to head over to the gardens, give ’em a call first to make sure!
How do hydrangeas get their color?
Hydrangeas actually change colors depending on the variety of flower and soil acidity!
In a more acidic soil environment, hydrangeas will turn bluer, and in a more alkaline (basic) soil, they’ll turn pink or red. Of course, you’ll also see them in all the shades in between, with lavender and purple also being common colors to see!
Okay, I’ve gotta check these beautiful blooms out! Details, please!
