The adventure begins this April at 550 Somerset Terrace NE. As soon as you don your VR headset, youâll be plunged into what feels like a parallel universe. The Giza necropolis is slowly waking up, from the soothing waters of the Nile to the flourishing palm trees and the dawnâs early birds. Crazy to think that beyond this magical landscape lie the mysteries of an entire civilizationâŚÂ
You wonât be the only one inspecting this ancient land. With the help of a virtual guide and fellow participants, youâll take the shape of an avatar to walk through the sand dunes. The ancient pyramids of Giza, the iconic Sphinx, and the funeral of King Khufu all present opportunities to dive deep into the rich history of Ancient Egypt.
Made to be as historically accurate as possible, Horizon of Khufu has been created in collaboration with egyptology professor Peter Der Manuelian and his team at Harvard. Using data from their Giza Project, Horizon of Khufu is able to replicate Ancient Egypt as it truly was.Â
