The jazz festival may have passed but we still get to enjoy the tunes of jazz artists at the Jazz Matters concert. This summer concert will take place this Friday August 19 starting 7:30pm.
This event launched seven years ago as an ode to jazz via concerts, outreach programs, and education for youth.
The Wrens Nest is located on a two and half acre garden. This concert located outdoors typically attracts a diverse audience. Jazz Matters was started by Janice and Edwin Williams. Edwin has experience with assembling and promoting jazz musicians throughout his a=career. He has also featured Grammy award winning and nominated artists. He and his wife both share a passion for at-risk youth. They hope to stimulate youth with a love of music while also learning life principles.
This will be the seventh season of Jazz Matters that Edwin and Janice host. This Friday guests will enjoy tunes from:
- Barry Richman
- Louahn Lowe
- Marla Feeney
Smooth jazz and good eats sounds like the perfect way to kick off a relaxing weekend here in Atlanta.
