First of all, what is a Labubu?
If you’re not chronically online, you might be asking… what on earth is a Labubu?
Well, it’s not exactly what… it’s who. According to NBC News,
Labubu is a girl… Labubu also isn’t a standalone character — she’s part of a larger group called ‘The Monsters’, created by Hong Kong artist and author Kasing Lung. The Monsters debuted in a Nordic mythology-inspired picture book trilogy in 2015, and by 2019, toy giant Pop Mart had turned them into the viral vinyl collectibles we know today.
Labubu got popular after K-Pop star, Lisa from BLACKPINK, posted on her socials about how much she loved the elfish little creature! And now, everyone’s obsessed.
Now there are tons of different Labubu-inspired toys, products and trinkets, which you can check out on Pop Mart’s website here.
