Holiday cheer is in the air across the country, but perhaps some ATLiens may be surprised to discover that Atlanta in particular is feeling the festive season, a lot more than other cities in the states! According to a new study by Finance Buzz ranking the Grinchiest cities in the states, Atlanta is number 44 out of the 50 cities analyzed with a holiday score of 62.5.
New York City was at the top of the list, declared the Grinchiest city in the United States, with a holiday score of 18.9. Each holiday score is calculated by analyzing dozens of metrics to measure each city’s holiday spirit.

The cities behind us who also are the least ‘Grinchy’, and ranking more of a Cindy Lou Who than the ATL include Pittsburgh, Orlando, and Minneapolis. The least ‘Grinchiest’ city according to the study is Hartford in Connecticut, gaining a holiday score of 74.8.
However, Oklahoma City is the city with the most holiday events per 100,000, and Minneapolis is the city with the highest percentage of population volunteering during the festive period.
