A dazzling performance is headed to the ATL this fall, and you definitely don’t want to miss it! The world-renowned circus storytellers at Cirque du Soleil are coming back to Atlanta with a brand new world to share: LUZIA! Keep scrolling for all the details about this breathtaking new show and the winding journey it will take you on through the colors, sights, mythology and more of a make-believe Mexico!
What is LUZIA about?
Poetically guided by light (‘luz’ in Spanish) and rain (‘lluvia’), LUZIA chronicles the encounters of a parachuted traveler with the culture, nature and mythology of a dreamlike land inhabited by a mystifying menagerie of characters. Refreshing and unexpected, LUZIA enchants by artistically incorporating water into the acrobatic presentation – a first for a Cirque du Soleil touring production.
LUZIA will take viewers on an emotional and unexpected journey, smoothly passing from an old movie set to the ocean to a smoky dance hall or an arid desert! LUZIA journeys through a colorful tapestry of multiple places, faces and sounds of Mexico taken from both tradition and modernity and imagination!
It’s so good that the New York Times says,
Luzia is Cirque du Soleil at its peak.
What feats of strength and flexibility can viewers expect at LUZIA?
Of course, Cirque du Soleil is known for performers with incredible talent, strength, agility and flexibility. See the human body at its most peak performance with incredible acts, like:
