If you think you felt an earthquake in Metro Atlanta this morning, you probably did. According to a report by WSB-TV Atlanta and Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz, “the earthquake was centered in Lilburn at 11:01 a.m.”
How big was the earthquake?
Local reports state that the earthquake was a 2.3 magnitude, and occurred at 4.0 km depth.
Was there any damage?
An earthquake this small doesn’t usually cause any kind of damage, but if you felt the shaking… then that’s what it was!
Lilburn is located in Metro Atlanta, but resident of the city likely didn’t feel any shaking.
