Midtown Atlanta is getting an artsy makeover!
Construction is underway for one of Midtown Atlanta’s most exciting upcoming projects. The Art Walk will be a five-block corridor between Midtown and Arts Center MARTA Stations. It’ll provide an unbeatable stroll through the one of Atlanta’s most creative neighborhoods, with some of its most creative citizens on display throughout.
They wrote on their website, “Accessible by transit and anchored by strong arts and cultural institutions, the Art Walk will deliver a highly visual and interactive urban experience with public art, street-level galleries, artist studios and outdoor dining.”
Midtown continues to become an ever-changing microcosm of Atlanta, with a huge artistic influence. The Art Walk will provide an improved infrastructure to get around, all while promoting ATL art and artists.
In the official announcement on their Instagram, they write, “A key segment of Midtown’s Art Walk is set to break ground in the coming weeks! Once completed, this pedestrian promenade will feature public art, colorful crosswalks and new lighting.”
The project began in 2021 with the plans to finish the project sometime next year. Midtown Alliance will construct the next phase of Art Walk on Peachtree Walk. The estimated budget will be $4.5M, with the official rending images clearly boasting the anticipated glow-up as something worth waiting for. For more information, check out their website.
