Breakfast has been voted most people’s favorite meal of the day, so it’s no surprise there is a whole day dedicated to pancakes. Brunch is taken very seriously in Atlanta, at this point it’s a sport. This makes it one of the best cities to enjoy (the best meal of the day). Secret Atlanta has compiled a list of the best spots around the city, to grab your pancake fix on National Pancake Day.
1. Pancake Social
Pancake Social, located at the bottom of PCM is one of the best places to enjoy good weather and delicious pancakes. This fairly recent restaurant received rave reviews for its delicious breakfast. With pancakes that take up the whole plate guests are sure to be pleasantly stuffed all day. Some of their unique pancake flavors are Lemon + Ricotta Pancakes, Apple Cinnamon Pancakes, and Banana + Oat Cakes. This is one place where you will leave completely satisfied.
2. The Original Pancake House
The Original Pancake House is an institute that has been around forever. So it stands to reason that it would make the list of must-visit places on National Pancake Day. OPH has won Critics Pick and Readers Pick for best pancakes in 2018. Any place titled The Original Pancake House is guaranteed to have a variety of pancake toppings and options. Don’t worry if you are still into a classic golden pancake that’s available as well. But, if you’d like to venture out, try their banana pancakes, strawberry pancakes, blueberry pancakes, and so much more.
3. West Egg Cafe
Insert drooling emoji! West Egg Cafe is THAT place. Their breakfast is mouth-watering and filling. Hailed one of the best breakfast spots in Atlanta, West Egg Cafe will have you coming back every weekend if you aren’t careful. Located in Atlanta’s Westside Midtown neighborhood West Egg Cafe quickly became the spot to go to for brunch on the weekends. Their sour cream pancakes are deliciously topped with honey butter and melt in your mouth. Don’t just make this your National Pancake Day spot, but maybe a monthly treat as well.
4. Egg Harbor Cafe
Egg Harbor Cafe has four convenient locations throughout Atlanta (Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Buckhead, and Sandy Springs). No matter what part of the city you’re in you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy some of their freshly made pancakes. Some of Atlanta’s most decadent pancakes can be found and these local spots. Patrons can choose from Harbor Signature Pancakes or Cinnamon Swirl Pankes. Of course, they have other flavors, but these two are some of the fan favorites. Pop in there this weekend or on Tuesday to get that pancake fix.
5. Thumbs Up Diner
A true Atlanta staple, Thumbs Up Diner has been here for three decades! They have truly cemented their place into Atlanta’s heart, culture, and stomach. This all-day diner is known to have serious wait times and lines out the door. With so many great breakfast dishes it’s easy to see why they have lasted so long. Traditional pancakes or pecan pancakes are available to order. And naturally, you can have sides added to any of your dishes. They have expanded from the Edgewood location to West Midtown, Douglasville, East Point, Roswell, Austell, and Fayetteville). So, if you aren’t in the city they have plenty of locations OTP.
6. Ria’s Bluebird
Located in the heart of Edgewood, Ria’s Bluebird is another local favorite known for its wait times. But again it is worth every minute. Once you sit down, your eyes are bound to get bigger than your stomach! Ria’s Buttermilk Pancakes can be jazzed up by adding toasted Georgia pecans, caramelized bananas, or chocolate chips. Add this to your must-try list if you haven’t made it over yet.
7. Buttermilk Kitchen
This place doesn’t even really need an introduction, to be honest. Buttermilk Kitchen in Buckhead was voted Best Breakfast Spot in Atlanta by Eater in 2022. To seal the deal on how official Buttermilk Kitchen is, Food Network’s Guy Ferrari also stopped by to try some of their biscuits and was blown away. Make your way down Roswell Rd. to Buttermilk Kitchen for an experience you’ve never had.
8. Le Petite Marche
Nestled in East Atlanta’s Kirkwood location this quaint breakfast spot has the perfect combination of ambiance and fantastic food. Translated, Le Petit Marche, Little Market is the perfect name for this adorable restaurant. Though small it is MIGHTY! Their food options pack the ultimate punch and are sure not to disappoint. Their current menu doesn’t boast pancakes. But be sure to check out their french toast and crepe dishes as well.
9. Flying Biscuit
Flying Biscuit is one of those places where you want to try EVERYTHING on the menu! With fresh ingredients, and a service full of southern hospitality, FB is a must-visit. The winner of a multitude of restaurant awards, guests have no fear that they will enjoy their meal. The name alone lets you know that they specialize in biscuits but they have other breakfast options as well. Instead of pancakes, Flying Biscuit gives customers their choice of waffles. Waffle options include Dirty Bird, Hot Honey Butter Chicken & Waffle, Hot Chicken Waffle, and more.
10. Snooze A.M Eatery
Snooze A.M. is newly arrived in Atlanta, but has been met with great reviews. they opened their first location off of Roswell Rd. and expanded to Piedmont Park, West Midtown, and Alpharetta coming soon. The Pancake Flight is one of the more unique items on their menu. If you are having trouble deciding which pancake you’d like, this option lets you choose three flight-sized pancakes to eat. One of their most amazing dishes is their Pineapple Upsidedown Pancakes. Their Buttermilk Pancakes will be topped with caramelized pineapples house-made vanilla crème and cinnamon butter. Get ready to fill up on some of the most delicious breakfasts you’ve ever had here.
