Now before we start, we love ALL our residents, visitors, (and most of) the tourists that come to Atlanta. Whether you’ve called our beautiful city home for your entire life of you’ve only been here for 3 years, once you drop your first chicken wing bone on the ground… you’re one of us! But… there are some instant giveaways that let us know if you’re not really from Atlanta!
We asked y’all, and you delivered some hilarious, true, and sweet answers. Without further ado, here are 20 giveaways that someone isn’t from Atlanta!
1. They think Varsity is 
2. They say about the recently demolished North DeKalb Mall, “It’ll always be Market Square to me.”
3. Doing 70 in the left lane. Pls move over!
4. They leave meat on they wings!
5. Give away for West Coast, the put THE in front of interstate names. “The I-285”
6. When they call it “Hotlanta” or say “Ponce de Leon”
7. They pronounce Manuel’s Tavern as man-WELL’s instead of MAN-ew-uhl’s.
8. The call it “pop” instead of Coke.
9. “What’s spaghetti junction?”
10. They don’t know what the Big Chicken is!
11. They let you in when you turn on your blinker
12. They don’t say “I’m finna”
13. They have never rode MARTA, or know what it is.
14. They don’t know that finding chicken wings and bottles of fireball strewn on the side of the road, is normal.
15. Don’t know about the Clermont Lounge…!
16. They say, Lenox Mall. It’s Lenox Square.
