What’s the weather going to be like in Atlanta on Thanksgiving?

We’re in for a milder Thanksgiving than usual.
Here’s what the Old Farmer’s Almanac has to say about the Southeast region, which includes Atlanta,
A chilly start early in the week gives way to milder air by Thanksgiving. With sunshine holding steady, it’s a fine setup for morning football games, backyard cookouts, or stress-free road trips.
In other words, expect chilly, but not freezing, sunny days leading up to the holiday, and then a nice day on Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving Travel Predictions

Of course, if you’re planning to travel for Thanksgiving, the weather might not be at the top of your list of priorities. Thanksgiving travel might be a little messier than usual this year, with the Government shutdown heavily affecting the Atlanta Airport.
Atlanta News First says,
If airlines cancel flights due to the shutdown, the U.S. Department of Transportation requires carriers to issue refunds, even for non-refundable tickets. However, if TSA worker shortages create delays that cause passengers to miss their flights, travelers are not entitled to refunds.
As far as car related travel, you can expect quite the traffic and delays, but we’re not exactly sure how much to expect. Just make sure to leave with plenty of time to spare, don’t speed, and maybe bring a coffee with you for the trip!
Happy Thanksgiving planning, y’all!
