What is the oldest Irish bar in Atlanta?
Limerick Junction Pub in Virginia-Highland is the oldest Irish bar in Atlanta.
Founded in 1988, Limerick Junction Pub is a true Atlanta staple: and not just for St. Patrick’s Day. We love getting a true Irish pour all year long!
They say, on their website,
Our name comes from Atlanta’s history as a railroad terminal: the town of Limerick Junction was born out of a rail stop just east of Limerick, Ireland, much like the Va-Hi neighborhood is part of East Midtown. A railroad theme is prevalent throughout the pub, from our antique signal lights to luggage above the windows.
What’s on the menu?
Of course, if you’re headed to Limerick Junction Pub, then you’re probably on the search for a delicious Irish beer! They’ve got the best Guinness pour in the ATL, along with other definitive Irish lagers, reds, stouts, and ciders.
But there’s more to their menu than just beer. They’ve also got some delicious wines & spirits available, as well as a menu full of Irish cuisine favorites.
If you’ve never been before, we’ve gotta recommend their Shepherds pie or bangers & mash! You can check out the full menu here.
