Atlanta is famous for its plentiful greenery, and there are so many gorgeous parks that call the city home.

If you’re looking for that perfect place for a picnic, or a hike to get the heart pumping. Atlanta has a great selection of parks and nature reserves that’ll help you forget you’re in the hustling city.

There’s enchanting waterfalls, insane views of the iconic skyline, and so much more on this list of the prettiest parks to visit in Atlanta:

1. Piedmont Park

Located about 1 mile from Downtown Atlanta, between the Midtown and Virginia Highland neighborhoods is the gorgeous Piedmont Park. Home to Georgia’s Botanical Gardens, you could make a day of it at Piedmont. The views of the skyline are unbeatable, making it the perfect place to watch the sunset.

2. Lullwater Park

Nestled within Emory University’s North Decatur campus is Lullwater Preserve. The tranquil vibes will relax you into forgetting that you’re in Atlanta. Enjoy its gorgeous waterfalls and castle ruins, and get lost in that famous Georgian nature. Expect a lot of dog-lovers and fitness fanatics, as this place has great  running and walking trails.

3. Chattahoochee Forest

The Chattahoochee River is one of Atlanta’s most beloved attractions. With romantic restaurants and incredible hiking trails, you could totally have a vacation (or staycation) in the forest that follows the stream. Take in that beautiful Georgian nature, with every corner utterly picture perfect.

4. Sweet Water Creek Park

The 2,549 acre Georgia state park in east Douglas County, is named after the picturesque creek that runs through it. You can hike, walk, run, mountain bike through some of the best nature the peach state has on offer. There’s even a gift shop with souvenirs and yummy ice creams.

5. Vickery Creek
