What is Radium Springs?
Radium Springs is Georgia’s largest natural spring and one of the state’s seven natural wonders. Formerly known as Blue Spring, Radium Springs used to be a popular swimming and fishing spot for Creek Native Americans and early Georgia settlers.
The spring famously stays at a chilly 68-degrees, with over 70,000 gallons of water pumping through the spring every minute, from an underwater cave.

In 1927, Radium Springs opened the Radium Springs Casino, a popular and luxurious resort where visitors enjoyed the gorgeous blue waters.
According to Visit Albany,
The discovery of traces of radium in the water in the early 20th century further added to its allure, leading to the development of the resort.
After natural disasters demolished the casino, the ruins of the building were thoughtful transformed into Radium Springs Gardens, which opened to the public in 2010.
