The charitable coffeehouse is hosting an incredible market for Juneteenth.
On Saturday June 19th, Refuge Coffee Co. will be hosting their For The People Juneteenth Market. Located on the corner of Auburn Avenue and Piedmont Avenue, the market will be a celebration of Black-owned businesses, highlighting 30 all in all.
There will also be so much going on in the neighborhood, with the non-profit coffee shop stating on their Instagram, “You will also have the opportunity to walk through Charvis Harrell’s gallery of art, as well as get a taste of Auburn Avenue by eating at one of the many restaurants around!”
Refuge Coffee Co’s Juneteenth Market will be located at their Sweet Auburn Location. The shop is in the former home of The Atlanta Daily World, one of the earliest and most influential black newspapers. Their original location in Clarkston, where immigrants and refugees from over 45 countries across five continents live and work together. The company is known for offering living-wage, full-time jobs, job training, and mentorship for refugees, with hopes to tell more more beautiful, accurate refugee story connected to Atlanta and beyond.
