Michelangelo’s Famous Sistine Chapel Comes To Atlanta With A Stunning New Exhibit

Cancelled Europe trip? Experience the Vatican City, and explore the Sistine Chapel a little closer to home.

You’ve never experienced the Sistine Chapel the way you can at Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibit. Imagine having the chance to stop and admire the stunning frescos the famous Italian artist painted across the historical Sistine Chapel. Imagine being able to do so without the price point of a flight to Italy.

Guests are invited to take a stroll through the exhibit that highlights the frescos Michelangelo painted across the ceiling column of the Apostilic Palace in Rome. Painted between 1508 and 1512, the fresco style of the painting makes the work, over time, integrate with the surface it’s painted on. Later, he finished another portion called, The Last Judgment, between 1535 and 1541.

The arts center is set up in long columns with canvas stands of the Sistine Chapel’s paintings along each side, making a hallway of artwork that visitors can get close and personal with in a way not possible at the original site. Choose to observe in silence or use the accompanying audio to guide your way.

This amazing event, coming from the LA-based SEE Global Entertainment (SEE™), a family of companies that specialize in global touring exhibitions, utilizes state of the art technology that showcase every detail of one of Rome’s most beautiful and famous landmarks with breathtaking, 360-degree replications. And tickets for this unique exhibit have just been released to the public!

The exhibit is hands-free so it’s a perfect COVID-19-safe and socially-distant activity. Westside are doing what they can to observe safety rules and guidelines, so bring a mask and keep your distance from the fellow art lovers!
