Which Atlanta restaurant earned a Michelin Star?
One Atlanta restaurant earned a Michelin Star during the ceremony: So. Fox, which opened in the ATL this summer.
Recently opened in July, So. Fox leans into the neighborhood atmosphere of Atlanta’s tree-lined Virgina-Highland area, with an upscale yet relaxed dining room designed with a minimalistic Scandi-Japanese flair. The local ingredient-driven Southern fare is equally inviting with dishes such as Carolina Gold rice with toasted shrimp and drop dumplings with nettle and confit rabbit.
But that wasn’t the only new restaurant in Georgia to make the list: Uberto Restaurant in Gay, Georgia (about an hour south of the city) also earned a coveted Michelin Star.
Which Atlanta restaurants have a Michelin Star now?
- Atlas
- Bacchanalia
- Hayakawa
- Lazy Betty
- Mujō
- O by Brush
- Omakase Table
- So. Fox – (New)
And in Georgia (not Atlanta)
- Spring (Marietta)
- Uberto Restaurant (Gay)

Wait… what even is a Michelin Star?

The Michelin Guide’s star rating system is based on five things:
quality of ingredients
- harmony of flavors
- mastery of techniques
- personality of the chef expressed through their cuisine
- consistency across the menu and over time
As expected, it’s pretty hard to earn a Michelin star at all, and the maximum a restaurant can earn is three stars.
- Three-star review from Michelin means “Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey.”
- Two stars indicates “excellent cooking, worth a detour.”
- One star means that the restaurant is a “very good restaurant in tis category.”
In other words, earning a Michelin Star is a huge honor, given only to the best of the best! & we’re so proud of our star-earning restaurants!
Huge congratulations to So. Fox, new in town and new on the Michelin Guide!
