According to a new report from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Fox’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ will be filming outside of Los Angeles for the first time in its 18 season run, and the new filming location they chose? That’s right! Right here in the ATL!
As many of us know, Atlanta has a thriving film and television scene, with tons of things already being filmed here. Atlanta is excited to host ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and add it to our long list of “filmed in Atlanta” favorites.
What’re the details?
According to the local union, IATSE 479, which represents the bulk of the crew working on production, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ will begin filming on December 4th in Pullman Yards in Kirkwood. They plan to shoot throughout December and January, and wrap filming on January 29th.
Who are the judges?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that there have been no official announcements from Fox as to who the celebrity judges or this year’s host will be yet, but as soon as we know, we’ll let you know! Last season’s judges included ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ vet, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, JoJo Siwa, and actor Matthew Morrison, who was later replaced by Leah Remini.
There is also no official airing date set by Fox yet.
‘So You Think You Can Dance’ isn’t the first time Fox has chosen Atlanta for a filming location. The network shot two other game shows that you might have heard of in the Atlanta area recently: “Lego Masters” hosted by Will Arnett and “Snake Oil” hosted by David Spade.
Atlanta is excited to host this iconic reality tv dance competition, and especially honored to be the first place chosen after 17 seasons of shooting in LA.
It’s time to dance with delight and welcome ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ to the ATL!
