Netflix’s iconic ‘Stranger Things’ series finale was a dramatic and emotional close to the beloved nearly decade-long show.

Patrick Henry Adult Education

The former alumni of the now-closed Patrick Henry Adult Education were delighted to see their former education center enter the pop-culture zeitgeist! The center is used as the filming location for Hawkins Middle School & Hawkins High School.
Briarcliff Road Northeast (Pictured above) is possibly one of the most iconic episodes of Stranger Things, as the beloved protagonists Will, Mike, Lucas and Dustin, pay homage to the 1984 family-favorite Ghostbusters.
Gwinnett Place Mall

Gwinnett Place Mall also had a huge roll to play in the third season of Stranger Things!
Despite its notorious history, many ATLiens were delighted to see this slice of nostalgia reinvented into a retro love-letter to malls in the eighties as the Starcourt Mall in Stranger Things.
South Bend Pool

There’s no denying that Billy Hargrove is one of the most controversial characters in the sci-fi saga. Fans across the globe instantly swooned when we were introduced to the beloved Stranger Things bully and life guard, who was filmed on duty in season three at the Hawkins Community Pool, known as South Bend Pool to us Atlantans!

If you’ve seen ANYTHING about Stranger Things, then you know the iconic alphabet wall in Will Byers’ house that his mother uses to communicate with him in the Upside down. But did you know that the exterior was actually a house right here in the ATL?

Stone Mountain Cemetery

We’ll never forget the heartbreaking funeral for fan-favorite Barb waaaay back in the beginning, in season one of Stranger Things.
These devastating funeral scenes were actually filmed at Stone Mountain Cemetery, right here in Metro ATL, should you wish to pay your respect to meme-queen Barb!
Sleepy Hollow Farm

Sleepy Hollow Farm in Powder Springs is home to Hopper’s Cabin, where Eleven found refuge during the earlier seasons of Stranger Things.
The farm-based attraction was also used for those memorable scenes of rotting pumpkins, an early indicator to fans that something wasn’t quite right in Hawkins.
Emory Adventist Hospital

That iconic encounter with the Mind Flayer from season three was filmed at Emory Adventist Hospital, turning Smyrna into Hawkins for one of the most tense moments from season 3!
The Georgia Mental Health Institute

If you’ve driven past this massive building and wondered why it looks familiar, it’s from an early season of Stranger Things.
The Druid Hills building becomes the notorious Hawkins National Laboratory when the series is filming. The Georgia Mental Health Institute was a psychiatric hospital which operated from 1965 to 1997.
Downtown Atlanta

When Eleven goes to Chicago in season 2… she’s actually right here in Downtown Atlanta! Did you recognize it?
Bellwood Quarry

Fans of Stranger Things will definitely recognize the Bellwood Quarry, or the Sattler Company, where, early in the show a body believed to be Will Byers is found.
Of course, Will isn’t dead and isn’t in the quarry. It was just a fake body planted by the Hawkins National Laboratory!
